Work History

I’M WALTER RUSSELL, THE CREATOR OF SIMPLE MONEY TIPS FOR WOMEN. I WAS BORN IN THE INNER CITY OF CLEVELAND, OHIO. I WAS YOUR PAPER BOY, AND I SHOVELED YOUR DRIVEWAY. BASICALLY, I WAS THAT ANNOYING ENTREPRENEURIAL KID THAT WOULDN’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER.

I began my investment career at J.P. Morgan Chase, which gave me an unbelievable foundation on money management. I received tons of awards and was in the top 10% of financial advisors from 1999-2008 before I relocated. During my days at Chase, I had over 800 clients; I saw people lose it all, and I saw them wildly succeed.

I’ve worked for some of the biggest names in finance.

What I’ve learned from some of the best has positioned us with the confidence to help you achieve your financial goals. – are you prepared for what’s next?

Early Childhood

My mother and father got a divorce when I was five or six years old. After the divorce, we had to move in with my grandmother, and my three uncles and aunt lived there too. This house had three bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms, so you can imagine how incredibly cramped it was. Thanks to Zillow, you can see the tiny house we lived in.

One year later, my mother decided to move my brother and me, and we lived in Strongsville then North Royalton. In the 1980s, there were not many blacks that lived in the suburbs. This is where we lived for the next several years.

As a kid, I didn’t realize all the sacrifices my mother made. My father didn’t pay child support on time. My stepfather had child support to pay as well, so money was always very tight. My mother worked in the call center at AT&T, and she would get gift certificates from the company to pay for our Christmas. If she made commissions, I got the G.I. Joe; if not, I got a sweater.

My Family

Today, I live in Columbus, Ohio, with my amazing wife, Carisa, and our three daughters (Avrielle, Aralyn, and Aleara).
